ACECQA recommends that “to meet requirements and track quality improvements, a Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) should be reviewed and revised annually and updated to reflect the results of the service’s assessment and rating visit”. Under the NQS approved providers are responsible for developing the QIP and must ensure there is one for each approved service. Further, the QIP must be:
- updated at least once a year
- available on request by the regulatory authority or parents of a child enrolled or looking to enrol at the service
- available at the principal office for family day care services.
The challenge for busy centre managers is to meet this requirement and be able to demonstrate that this process has occurred within the assessment and rating process.
Cloudbridge’s Document Storage Framework provides a solution. Our Microsoft Office 365 based framework, designed for ECEC providers, includes a section for storing all documents associated with the National Quality Standard (NQS) including your centres QIP.
In addition, by storing documents, including policies and procedures, in Cloudbridge’s Document Storage Framework centre managers can demonstrate in an audit that they are meeting Element 7.3.5 of the NQS that “service practices are based on effectively documented policies and procedures that are available at the service and reviewed regularly”.
