When Cloudbridge began working with the Active Queenslander Industry Alliance (AQIA) in late 2018 the organisation was relying on a Microsoft Small Business Server (SBS) that was over 10 years old to provide file storage and was not using the email capability of the aged server based software. There was little capability within AQIA to support the unsupported server software and hardware and staff needed to be in the office to access documents and work effectively.

Our aim was to assist AQIA to remove the complexity within their IT infrastructure, making it easier for staff to work together and access corporate information and to reduce the cost of supporting their IT. Cloudbridge worked with AQIA at their pace to implement Microsoft Office 365 with documents migrated to SharePoint and Exchange implemented to deliver corporate email, calendaring and contacts. This enabled AQIA to shut down their noisy heat generating server, relying instead on the IT services provided by Microsoft Office 365. We also migrated AQIA to the NBN to ensure a reliable connection from the office to the Office 365 solution.

As Jo Chiu, the Industry Development Manager at AQIA state “AQIA has worked with the Cloudbridge team over the last two years to improve our IT functions, including replacing an old server and moving our file storage and functions into the cloud.  Cloudbridge is always professional, responsive and willing to work with AQIA on the most appropriate IT solutions for our organisation.  We highly recommend the services of Cloudbridge.”

When this investment really paid off for AQIA was during the recent COVID 19 lockdown when staff were not able to access the office. Using Office 365 AQIA staff were able to work seamlessly from home accessing their email and documents.

The next step for AQIA is to adopt Microsoft Teams to assist the team to communicate, collaborate and organise events. Moving to Teams they will be able to be use the videoconferencing and messaging capability to seamlessly work together from any location. AQIA will potentially be able to use the Planner solution within Microsoft Teams to assist them to plan future events including allocating Tasks to team members with visibility of progress and a calendar for each event.
